What is the Regency Teak Brand?

Regency Teak™ is an exclusive collection of high quality, elegantly designed outdoor Teak furniture.   Regency Teak™ designs all of its own furniture, rather than buying market product, and then has it contract produced to our exact specifications by a select group of top tier factories in Indonesia.  Almost all of the large national brands contract their production to private factories.  This existing infrastructure allows Regency Teak™ to utilize many of the same state-of-the-art factories as the larger national brands.

All Regency Teak™ branded products are made from the finest Grade A Teak wood, is kiln dried, and machine made using time tested furniture joinery techniques, such as mortise, tenons and dowels along with screws for added strength where appropriate. This process is monitored and checked by our full-time on-site staff of Quality Assurance people that live in Indonesia year round. 

All Regency Teak™ furniture is made from plantation grown Teak forests and purchased from Perum Perhutani, who has been appointed by the Indonesian government to manage and control the growth and harvest of Teak.  Two or three trees are planted for every one that is harvested, assuring a sustainable source of Teak.

What is the Relationship between Regency Teak™ and The Teak Patio™?

Regency Teak Inc. owns The Teak Patio™.  In order to be able to sell the high quality outdoor furniture that is the Regency Teak™ brand at the best possible price, we decided to eliminate all the middlemen and sell direct.  By cutting out the whole distribution link in the supply chain, and selling in warehouse environment, we are able to sell at prices generally 30-50% less than the national brands and at a quality level that our customers tell us rivals or exceeds much larger national brands.

About our quality

NOT ALL TEAK IS CREATED EQUAL

Plantation Grown-Our wood comes from Indonesian plantations which plant several trees for each one harvested.

Grade A Select-We select only the finest "tectona grandis" timber, which means the wood has no knots, and is even in grain and color.

Kiln Dried-The timber is then slowly and thoroughly dried in a kiln oven, which dramatically reduces checking, cracking, and warping.

Machine Made-Our factories use German made machines to precision cut every section of wood and every mortise and tenon so that each connection fits tight , even after years of use.

Mortise and Tenon Joinery-Our furniture is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery, anchored with teak dowels or screws, as appropriate.  This attention to best practice construction methods results in solid durability for every piece of Regency Teak furniture.

Smooth as Silk Finish Every surface of the wood is carefully sanded three times and finished with extra fine sandpaper until it is smooth as silk .
